Reading Mini-Lessons:This week we learned about the differences between scientific, historical and technical texts. Scientific text provides information on science concepts, Historical texts provide information about events and people of the past and technical texts provide information on how to create something ("how to").
During this unit we are also focusing on using context clues to determine the meaning of unknown words.
Caesar's English: This week we introduced lesson 5 in CE. This lesson focuses on 5 stems (circum, mal, post, equi, ante). We will have a test on these on Friday, 4/5. circum = around mal = bad post = after equi = equal ante = before
Writing Mini-Lessons: We will continue writing our own poetry!
Social Studies: Studies Weekly: Economics - Cost, Supply/Demand, Scarcity.
Cursive: We've introduced cursive to the students. We've taught them proper posture, pencil grip, and some of the basic motions that are needed to spell with cursive letters. We are currently focusing on the lower case letters. We will be requiring the students to write their names in cursive on their papers soon!
